Born in Italy in 1991, pianist Yumi Palleschi began her musical studies at the age of 4. She studied privately with Angelo Pepicelli, Maria Teresa Carunchio and Massimiliano Ferrati until she graduated from the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato G.Briccialdi of Terni with the highest honors in 2009. In 2013 she pursued her Bachelor’s of Music degree at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland, under the guide of Piotr Paleczny.
Palleschi gave her first recital at the age of 8 and debuted with the orchestra of the I.C.O. T. Schipa Foundation of Lecce at the age of 13. Since then she has performed in Italy, Poland and USA as a soloist, and in chamber music formations for associations and festivals such as the Amici della Musica di Perugia Association, the Festival Pianistico of Spoleto, the W. A. Mozart Association of Rome, the Festival Strefa Ciszy of Warsaw, the Karol Szymanowski Festival of Zakopany, the Lyceum Association of Catania, and others.
Palleschi has won top prizes in many national and international competitions and has received many awards and scholarships, among which the Honors Diploma from the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, the Leandro Roscini prize by the Amici della Musica di Perugia Association, scholarships to participate to the Summer Academy at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, to the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at the Mannes School of Music of New York, and in 2011 she’s been invited to take to the 66th International Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki Zdròj. She has participated in master classes with maestros such as Jerome Rose, Andrea Bonatta, Jan Jiracek von Armin, Oxana Jablonskaya, Paul Gulda, Eduard Zilberkant, Michael Oelbaum, Nina Lelchuk.
Palleschi is currently a student of Joaquin Achucarro, completing her Master’s of Music degree at the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU, Dallas, USA.
