Italian pianist Gabriele Leporatti began his music studies at the age of six and graduated “Magna cum Laude” from the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence at the age of nineteen. He continued then his musical education under the guide of world- renowned pianists like Joaquín Achúcarro at SMU in Dallas, Fabio Bidini, Jerome Rose and Maria Tipo.
Currently based in Germany, his career has brought him to perform in Italy, Turkey, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, USA and China, while some of his performances and recordings were broadcasted by medias like SAFm (South Africa), RBB Kulturradio (Germany) and Raitre (Italy). In 2009 he made his New York City debut recital at the prestigious “International Keyboard Institute and Festival”.
Engagements for 2011/12 season will feature appearances in concerts throughout Germany, China and USA, also coming back to the International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York City to teach and perform.
As an active chamber musician, he performed together with artists like Eva Mei and Fabio Bidini and since 2007 he is co-musical director of the chamber music festival “Linari Classic” in Italy, where he regularly performs with soloists from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philarmonics Orchestra.
His discography includes a four hands piano music CD with Fabio Bidini (Schubert, Brahms, Rachmaninoff) for True Sounds Label and a solo CD “The Young Brahms” with early Brahms piano music.
On top of his performing career, he is regularly invited to serve as jury member in many piano competitions and to give masterclasses in various universities (among others, Anadolu Universitesi, Eskisehir, Turkey, Methodist University, Fayetteville NC, USA).
