Silvia Cuccurullo

Born in Bologna, Italy, graduated from “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatoire in Florence with honour, in piano and harpsichord under the guidance of Lucia Passaglia and Annaberta Conti.


Since she was a child, has partecipated in national and international competitions, always being first or among first. She has attended masterclasses with Joaquin Achucarro at the Chigiana Academy in Siena, with Tatiana Nikolaeva and Andrzej Jasiński at Mozarteum in Salzburg, with Lev Naumov in Asolo (Italy) and in Tours (France), and with Irvin Gage in Florence.


From 1990 to 1997 Mrs Cuccurullo studied at the “P.I.Ciaikovsky” Conservatoire in Moscow, where she got the master degree in piano, with Lev Naumov, assistant of Einrich Neuhaus, considered one of the most important piano teacher in Soviet Union. The study of the piano combines with that of chamber music, with musicians like G.A. Schirinskaja. T.A. Alihanov and E.E. Gilels, collaborating mainly with string instruments.


In 1995 she wins the first prize in the 6th “Mozartwettweber” in Salzburg.

She has performed as soloist and in chamber ensemble in Italy, Austria, France, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Japan and Usa, for prestigious concert societies such as: Amici della Musica in Florence, Sala Bossi in “G.B.Martini” Conservatoire in Bologna, Teatro Marrucino Chieti, Camerata Musicale Sulmonese, Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena, Théatre du

Châtelet in Paris, Konzerthaus in Wien, Brucknerhaus in Linz.


In 1998 she entered the “Meadows School of Arts” at SMU in Dallas with a scholarship, in the prestigious class of the famous pianist Joaquin Achucarro. Under his guidance, Mrs Cuccurullo developed many aspects of piano technique, expanding her repertoire.


She is also graduated “Magna cum Laude” in vocal chamber music with M° Leonardo De Lisi at the “L.Cherubini” conservatorie in Florence. 


The interest in this fascinating repertoire led her to create professional partnerships with many singers, and to collaborate with Rome Opera Theatre as Konzertmaister. In Rome Opera Theatre, in 2010, she took part,as pianist in a chamber music ensamble, in a production directed by Beppe Menegatti, with the partecipation of the famous dancer Carla Fracci.


Since many years she carries out an intense didactic activity; Mrs Cuccurullo has taught in the conservatoires of Trento and Latina. She is currently Professor of piano at the conservatoire “G.da Venosa” in Potenza.

She is the founder and Artistic Director of  “Sesto Giovani”, a concert season promoting the activity of very young musicians.
