Born in Verona (Italy), Michela Fogolin graduated in piano performance from Conservatorio Dall' Abaco in 1991 summa cum laude.
From 1992 to 1995 she studied with Joaquin Achucarro, Paul Badura-Skoda and Michele Campanella at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy) , where she was awarded scholarships and the prestigious Diploma of Merit.
From 1995 to 1997 she was received a two-year full scholarship to study with renowned Maestro Joaquin Achucarro at Southern Methodist University in Dallas (USA) and graduated with an Artist Certificate in 1997.
She has concertized extensively as a soloist in recitals, with orchestras and in chamber groups , performing in Italy, France, Austria, Finland, Spain, Sweden, Germany, USA and Japan.
From 1998 to 2004 she was korrepetitor at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki ( Finland) , specializing in the Italian operatic repertoire, working and assisting illustrious conductors such as Alberto Zedda, Mikko Franck, Gianandrea Noseda, Eri Klas, Leif Segerstam, Maurizio Barbacini and many others .
From 2005 Michela has been invited to play at several Festivals and Opera Houses in Europe, among which Savonlinna Opera Festival ( Finland ), Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro ( Italy ), Festival Mozart ( Spain ), Tenerife and Las Palmas (Spain), Dalhalla Music Festival ( Sweden), Frankfurt Opera ( Germany ), Opera de Luxembourg, Jeunes Voix du Rhin ( Strasbourg, France) . She has been guest Professor at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki ( Finland ) and at the Opera Department of the Gothenburg University ( Sweden ).
Currently she lives and works as a vocal coach in Verona, Italy, with her husband, conductor Pietro Rizzo, and their three children.
